PhilaU’s Jessica Romano Reaches 1,000th Career Rebound in Win at USP

Philadelphia, PA- Philadelphia University women's basketball senior center Jessica Romano (Horsham, PA/ Hatboro-Horsham) reached a new career milestone on Tuesday night, grabbing her 1,000th career rebound at Bobby Morgan Arena in a 72-65 win for her team over the University of the Sciences.

Romano had a game high 25 points and 10 rebounds in the victory.

She becomes just the fourth women's player ever reach that plateau, and the fourth female hoopster to become a career 1,000 point scorer and rebounder.  The other three PhilaU 1,000 point/rebounding players are All-Americans Vincene Morris'86 and Theresa Carroll'00 along with Alisha Ferguson'07.

Romano currently stands at 1,766 points and 1,005 boards.

The Horsham native is currently 65th in the NCAA DII in points per game (16.6) and 80th in rebounds per game (8.3).
