CACC Womens Basketball All-Conference Announced
Philadelphia, PA- Three Philadelphia University senior women's basketball players were named to the 2010 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) All-Conference teams, as announced on Tuesday.
Senior center Jessica Romano (Horsham, PA/ Hatboro-Horsham) headlined the group, earning 1st Team accolades for the third time in her career. She averages 17.1 ppg (50th nationally) and 8.9 rpg this season, tops for the Lady Rams. Earlier in the season Romano became just the fourth player in PhilaU women's hoops history to be a career 1,000+ point scorer and 1,000+ rebounder.
Two other seniors- forward Kate Brennan (Stratford, NJ/ Sterling) and guard Nina Brascetta (Philadelphia, PA/ Archbishop Ryan) were named to the ‘Honorable Mention' team.
Brennan, who will be returning for another year of action in 2010-11, is a newcomer to the All-Conference list. She averages 14.3ppg/ 4.3 rpg this season, while leading the team with 53 three-pointers.
Philly native Brascetta is ranked 12th nationally in assists per game (5.59) and averages 6.8 ppg this season. She also earns this honor for the first time in her career.
