Philadelphia, PA- Philadelphia University basketball was recognized this week as senior forward Kate Brennan was honored as the CACC 'Player of the Week' while men's sophomore guard Jim Connolly earned honorable mention.
Brennan was instrumental in the Rams' 2-0 week as she led the team in scoring with 44 points, including her 1,000th career point. Brennan rose to the occasion against Kutztown where she grabbed 28 points for the game, the highest individual scorer for the Rams so far this season.
Connolly held the high score for PhilaU against Assumption with 23 points to lead the team to a 73-70 victory in overtime. Connolly leads the Rams in scoring on the year, averaging 16.5 ppg and shooting 42.5% from the field.
The women's team will return to action 4:00 p.m. at home on Thursday (1/6) as Coach Shirley goes for his 599th career win against Georgian Court University, while the men's team takes on the University of Bridgeport at home at 6:00 p.m on the same day.
