CACC Weekly Honors, All Conference go to Women’s Lax
Philadelphia, PA- Two Philadelphia University women’s lacrosse players earned Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) honors this week and seven claimed all-conference honors for their standout performances this season.
The awards were highlighted by two top honors, as Coach George Chis-Luca was named CACC ‘Coach of the Year’ and junior midfielder Caribeth Shappell was named CACC ‘Player of the Year’ and 1st Team All-Conference.
Other 1st Teamers for the Rams included PhilaU junior attacker Taylor Peltzer (who was also named CACC ‘Player of the Week’) and senior defender Jennifer Sica.
On the CACC All-Conference 2nd Team were two PhilaU rookies: midfielder Carli DiCioccio and attacker Emily Ray (also CACC ‘Rookie of the Week’ this week).
On the ‘Honorable Mention’ list were two juniors: attacker Kalin Hodel and midfielder Andrea Saracco.
The Rams now head to the post-season on Saturday (4/30) for a 3 p.m. game as the #2 seed, opponent TBD.
