PHILADELPHIA – Philadelphia University senior midfielder Liz Mower (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton Area) was named to the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Women's Lacrosse Team by the by the 30 sports information offices in the Philadelphia metropolitan area.
The 2016 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Player of the Year, Mower led the conference with 71 goals, including 26 free-position goals, and was second with 35 assists and 106 points. She also added 28 ground balls, 27 draw controls, and 9 caused turnovers.
During the CACC Tournament, Mower recorded five goals, two assists, six draw controls, two ground balls, and two caused turnovers to help the Rams win their third conference championship—the second in the last three years.
Mower—a four-time All-CACC first-team selection—had a record-setting senior campaign as she set the school record for career goals (212), career assists (116), career points (328), goals in a season (71) and points in a season.
A CACC Spring All-Academic Team member for the second straight season, Mower has achieved a 3.548 grade-point average in the fashion merchandising and management major.
In order to be eligible for Academic All-Area honors, an athlete must be in at least her second year at the institution and hold a cumulative grade-point average of 3.20 or better.
