Philadelphia, PA- The Philadelphia University women's rowing team completed another successful season at the NCAA Division II National Championships in Cherry Hill, NJ.
In just their third year as an NCAA-sponsored sport, the V8 team placed fourth overall in the NCAA Division II Grand Final on Sunday, May 31 at the Cooper River Park in Camden County. The Lady Rams finished behind winner Western Washington University by less than two seconds. The Lady Rams won the repechage (semi-finals) on Saturday, May 30 to enter into the Grand Finals.
The V4 team placed third Saturday, May 30 in the repechage to end their NCAA run.
Earlier highlights from the fall and spring seasons include the V8 second-place finish and V4 win at NCAA Regionals in Erie, the Bill Braxton Regatta for a second-place finish (5:32.11) in the Women's Collegiate Varsity 8 race, head-to-head wins over Nova Southeastern in both the V8 and V4 in Miami and a bronze for the V8 and a silver for the V4 at the Knecht Cup.
