Womens Rowing V4 Captures Win at Princeton
Princeton, NJ- The Philadelphia University women’s rowing team was not hindered by the cold conditions on Lake Carnegie as they picked up a first-place finish in the V4 over Princeton and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) on Saturday.
The V4 won by an open water length in 8:23, as MIT (8:41) and
Princeton (8:48) rounded out the placing.
“The race was a good confidence builder for our women’s
V4 which should catapult them to a successful showing at the Murphy
Cup next weekend,” said PhilaU Head Coach Chris
O’Brien.
In the women’s V8 competition, PhilaU had a solid showing at second-place (7:17) sandwiched between winner Princeton (7:05) and third-place finisher MIT.
Next weekend the team heads to the Murphy Cup on their home waters, the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia on Saturday (4/3).
