NCAA Bound: Women’s Rowing Wild, Wild West Blog

Philadelphia, PA- The Philadelphia University women’s rowing team is heading west to Gold River, California for the 2010 NCAA Rowing Championships from May 28th-30th, hosted by Washington State University at the Sacramento State Aquatic Center on Lake Natoma.

Day 1: Tuesday (5/26) 11:52 PM (PST)
By: Briana Zelinski'10

Today we began our trip to Sacramento, California for the NCAA Women’s Rowing Championships dressed to the nines in our matching white polos and black pants.

In true Philly fashion we arrived to the airport via yellow school bus after the usual detour and curb hopping to which the team has grown accustomed.

Tuesday afternoons are apparently the time to fly as the team made it through check-in and security without any delays. The flight was off to a great start until mechanical problems unexpectedly occurred on the runway before departure. We had a layover in Phoenix, Arizona where everyone was able to grab a quick bite to eat before taking off once again.

After a long day of travel the entire team is really looking forward to finally arriving in Sacramento and getting to the hotel. The team is anxiously awaiting the next couple of days racing and cannot wait to show the rest of the country what we can accomplish.

That’s all for tonight.
