Wild, Wild West Blog: Day 5

What up Philly? Well our morning started off with a quick breakfast to head down bright and early to catch the V8's repechage race against Barry, Seattle Pacific, and FIT. The V 8 carried their boat in and prepared their oars with excitement and anticipation. As they began to row away we wished them luck and shouted loud cheers to show our support and Philly pride.
They raced hard and strong and came out with a 3rd place finish- sending them to the Petite Final tomorrow at 9:15am PST. After a quick lunch, the V4 headed back to the race course to get some time in on the water to loosen up any tense nerves or kinks in our strokes. The California sun beamed down on us during the row but with plenty of water we stayed hydrated and focused. After the practice we hopped into the water for a Sacramento version of an ice bath. I stayed nice and dry on the shore to clock time until the girls felt their muscles go numb.
Returning back to the hotel we rested up and met the team along with some parents who made the long trip out for dinner. Lots of pasta along with a delicious brownie sundae were on the menu and we quickly filled up fast. We all met together one last time for our boat meeting to discuss our final game plan and watch film from the previous day. We feel confident for tomorrow's race and ready for victory. Join us tomorrow (Sunday) at 12pm EST as the PhilaU V 4 takes on Western Washington and FIT for the Women's DII Grand Final and then 12:15 EST for the V8 Petite Final. We have the chance of bringing home a team title and setting a school record!
