PhilaU V8 Takes Third, Will Compete in Petite Final on Sunday
Gold River, CA- The Philadelphia University women’s rowing V8 took third-place (7.02.59) in today’s repechage to end their chances of medaling at the NCAA Women’s Rowing Championships on Lake Natoma.
The Lady Rams will now compete in the Petite Final on Sunday (5/29) at 9:15 a.m. Pacific Standard Time (PST) and PhilaU’s V4 boat will race in their Grand Finale at 9 a.m. (PST) that morning. The races will take place at 12 and 12:15 EST.
In the V8 race, PhilaU stayed tight with the other three boats, but fell into third-place for good near the 1,000 meter mark. Seattle Pacific University won the event in a come-from-behind move, while Barry University took second- both will compete in the Grand Finale on Sunday. Florida Institute of Technology took fourth in the race.
