Mens and Womens Rowing Team Look to Make a Presence Again
Philadelphia, PA- The teams are coming back from another outstanding season in 2009. The women's V8 team placed 4th overall at the NCAA DII Grand Final, with their V4 placing 3rd in semi-finals. While the men's placed 19th at the Dad Vail Regatta and had their V4 boat won the Murphy cup in 2009.
With Coach Christopher O'Brien in his fourth season, goals for the men's team include a win at the Dad Vail Regatta and for the women's a third bid at the NCAA Championship.
The Rams are led by captain Thomas Ferree-Gooding. The men's team has a strong sophomore core. The team looks to mature and grow as the year goes on.
The Lady Rams captains this season are seniors Briana Zelinski and Maureen Agnew. There are six seniors on the women's team this year and all six will be racing in boats at the NCAA Championship.
Freshman to watch this season will be walk-on Logan Smith for the men and a true freshman Allison Cook for the women.
Big races to look forward to this season will be the Dad Vail Regatta, Murphy Cup and Knecht Cup. Also, for the women's there will be the NCAA Championship.
