PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Philadelphia University women's rowing team earned its first varsity medal at the Dad Vail Regatta after its Varsity Four boat recorded a third-place finish in the grand final of the DII/III race Saturday afternoon on the Schuylkill River.
The Lady Rams missed out on making that medal silver by a single seat as they were edged out by Bowdoin, who had a time of 7:47.378. Nova Southeastern took the event by open-water with a gold medal winning time of 7:43.398.
Central Oklahoma (7:50.759), Florida State (7:55.378) and Bryn Mawr (8:00.265) rounded out the event.
Earlier in the day, Philadelphia advanced to the grand final by posting a semifinal-heat winning time of 7:36.615. The boat walked past Central Oklahoma (7:37.873) for the heat victory.
