Women's rowing reaches two finals at Dad Vail Regatta

PHILADELPHIA – The Philadelphia University women's rowing team concluded its Aberdeen Dad Vail Regatta on Saturday with a pair of boats reaching their respective grand final.

The women's varsity four boat posted a fourth-place finish in the final of the Division II/III grand final with a time of 7:31.453. Barry University won the gold with a first place time of 7:22.192. Merrimack took the silver, while Humboldt State earned the bronze.

The Rams raced their way into the grand final by coming in fourth in the repechage race held earlier in the day. Philadelphia posted a qualifying time of 7:41.343 to take the last spot in the final.

In the women's varsity eight Division II final, Philadelphia came in sixth with a time of 7:02.439. Barry won the Henry Backe Trophy, while Mercyhurst was second and Humboldt took third.

The novice four team wrapped up its Dad Vail Regatta with a sixth-place finish in semifinal three, posting a time of 8:11.092.
