Women's varsity 8 heads to NCAA Division II Championship petite final

GOLD RIVER, Calif. – The Philadelphia University women's rowing varsity 8 team posted a fourth place finish in the repechage race at the NCAA Division II Championship on Saturday held at the Sacramento State Aquatic Center.

The team of coxswain Lynn Nemeth, bow Maria Soledad Gonzalez-Romero, Kelsey Fairley, Eliza Brooks, Amy Robinson, Rachel Tobinus, Julia Higham, Kelsey Zuch, and stroke Colleen O'Donnell went down the 2-kilometer course in the "Who's Yo Daddy II" in 7:21.344.

Philadelphia will square off with Nova Southeastern, who was third in the race with a time of 7:16.210, in the petite final on Sunday at 12:28 p.m.

Humboldt State and Central Oklahoma went 1-2 to advance to Sunday's grand final. The Lumberjacks posted the winning time of 7:03.522, while the Bronchos safely finished in second with a 7:10.767.
