Reinford, Stracquatanio, Hoover Earns Weekly Accolades from CACC

Three Philadelphia University student-athletes were recognized by the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) on Monday, October 1st, earning weekly Player of the Week accolades.  Senior women's soccer standout Brianna Reinford and senior women's tennis player Katie Stracquatanio were named CACC Players of the Week in their respective sport while freshman Lauren Hoover of the women's volleyball team was named CACC Rookie of the Week for the second time in three weeks.

A native of Gilbertsville, Pa., Reinford collected three goals and one assist in two games for the Lady Rams, helping the team to a perfect 2-0-0 record.  Reinford tallied two goals and one assist in a win at Chestnut Hill College on September September 25th, to open the week while adding another goal in a 4-0 triumph over Nyack College on September 29th at home.  For the season, Reinford leads the team in scoring with nine points, tallying four goals and one assist as the Lady Rams are off to a 7-3-0 start overall including a perfect 5-0-0 record in league play.

Stracquatanio had an outstanding week for the Lady Rams' tennis team, posting a perfect 3-0 singles mark while adding a 2-0 record in doubles play as well.  Her stellar singles performance was instrumental in non-conference wins over Kutztown University on September 26th and NCAA Division I opponent LaSalle University on September 27th.  In addition, Stracquatanio now needs just one win to become the fourth women's player in school history to record 100 career victories.

Rounding out the trio honored by the CACC is Hoover, who has been stellar at setter for the Lady Rams through 20 matches.  Last week, the true freshman totaled 67 assists in two matches, helping Head Coach Mark Magarity's squad to a 2-0 record.  This included a 32-assist, 13-dig performance in a win over Goldey-Beacom College on September 27th.  This season, Hoover leads the Lady Rams with 601 assists while her 134 digs rank third on the team.
