Womens Soccer Shocked in 1-0 CACC Semifinal Loss to Holy Family
New Castle, DE- The #1 seeded Philadelphia University Lady Rams (13-5-3, 10-2 CACC) suffered a 1-0 upset at the hands of the Holy Family University Tigers (11-9-1, 8-3-1 CACC) at the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Semifinals.
The Lady Rams outshot HFU 12-11.
The loss ends the 2009 season for the Lady Rams after the squad won the CACC regular-season championship.
HFU took an early lead in the first half as Dawn Curry knocked the game-winner in at 27:44 on a free kick.
Freshman goalie Kelli Kowalewski (Shamong, NJ/ Seneca) had four saves in goal for the Lady Rams, while HFU's Gina Mansi made five stops for the Tigers.
