Women's Soccer Shutdown 2-0 at Adelphi

Garden City, NY- The Philadelphia University women's soccer team (1-1, 0-0 CACC) was held scoreless in a 2-0 loss at Adelphi University (1-0, 0-0 NE-10) on Saturday afternoon.  The Lady Rams were outshot 14-5 in the defeat.

Adelphi notched two early goals in the first half, a score from Brianne McDonnell just four minutes into play and a header from Kayte Kinsley at the 20:41 mark.  The Lady Rams, try as they might, could not break the stalemate.

PhilaU freshman goalie Kelli Kowalewski (Shamong, NJ/ Seneca) had one save in 45 minutes of action, and sophomore keeper Rebecca Della Peruta (Hammonton, NJ/ Hammonton) made seven stops for PhilaU.  AU keeper Dorothy Conolly had one save.                                                                                      

PhilaU returns to action on Wednesday (9/2) at Chestnut Hill College at 4:00 p.m.
