Rookies Move PhilaU to 3-0 Win at Post
Waterbury, CT- The Philadelphia University women's soccer team (6-1-3, 4-0 CACC) extended their unbeaten streak to eight in a row with a 3-0 shutdown of Post University (2-6, 1-3 CACC) on Saturday. Freshman forward Trisha Sileo (Islip, NY/ Islip) scored the game-winner, a bullet with just 30 seconds left in the first half.
The Lady Rams outshot Post 13-6.
PhilaU rookie midfielder Jessica Stec (Pleasant Valley, NY/ Our Lady of Lourdes) scored her first career goal at 52:02 in the second half to make it 2-0, and sophomore forward/midfielder Gabrielle Haden (Freehold, NJ/ Colts Neck) netted the final score to come away with the 3-0 victory.
PhilaU freshman goalie Kelli Kowalewski (Shamong, NJ/ Seneca) had three saves, while Post's Cassandre Michel had four stops for the Eagles.
The Lady Rams return home to Ravenhill Field on Tuesday (9/29) for a 4:30 p.m. date with Wilmington University.
