Philadelphia, PA- The Philadelphia University women's soccer team (5-1-1, 3-0 CACC) picked up a solid 1-0 win over the visiting Holy Family University Tigers (3-3, 1-2 CACC) on Wednesday evening at Ravenhill Field.
In what turned out to be an eventful ending, the Rams outshot HFU 12-10.
With the game locked at 0-0 and overtime looking inevitable, PhilaU sophomore midfielder Nicole Van Bourgondien blasted a shot from 30 yards out to give PhilaU the game-winner. It was Van Bourgondien's second goal of the year- and her first game-winning shot.
In goal, junior goalie Kelli Kowalewski had five saves, while HFU's Rachel Dunkle made 10 stops for the Tigers.
The Rams take respite until Sunday (9/25) when they travel to Dominican for a 12 p.m. tango.
