PHILADELPHIA – Dena Noiseux (Merrimack, N.H./Merrimack) and Megan Sullivan (West Deptford, N.J./West Deptford) each found the back of the net as the Philadelphia University women's soccer team picked up a 2-0 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) victory over Post Saturday afternoon on Ravenhill Field.
Before the match kicked off, the women's soccer team honored its seven senior student-athletes: Michelle Gagnon (Andover, Mass./Andover), Parisse Dawkins (Rahway, N.J./Union County Vo-Tech), Marissa Morazes (Milford, Conn./Jonathan Law), Helen Finke (Saint Charles, Ill./Saint Charles East), Andi Neski (Briarcliff Manor, N.Y./Ossining), Taylor Mysza (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks East), and Sullivan.
Noiseux broke the scoreless deadlock at 34:29 with her second goal of the season. Brooke Haden lofted a center pass to Noiseux from the right wing. Noiseux settled the pass in the box and shot the ball back across the goal mouth into an open net as Post keeper Callah Baranowski was caught leaning the other way.
The score remained 1-0 until the 63:46 when Sullivan tacked on an insurance goal, heading home a crossing pass at the left post from Amy Heller (Feasterville, Pa./Neshaminy). Sullivan is now the team-leader in goals with four.
Philadelphia keeper Deanna Messner (Willow Grove, Pa./Archbishop Wood) stopped four shots for her fifth shutout of the year. Baranowski recorded seven saves for Post.
The Rams owned a 23-6 shot advantage.
