PHILADELPHIA – The Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) women's and men's soccer teams will travel to Waterbury, Conn. Saturday, Sept. 9 to play in a doubleheader against the Post University Eagles at noon and 3 p.m. respectively. Action takes place from LaMoy Field.
LAST TIME OUT - WOMEN
The women's team is coming off of a 2-1 victory over Queens College. Both goals were scored by sophomore Dena Noiseux. The first goal was scored at 5:05 and the second at 20:43, both in the first half. Junior Erin Tinneny had six saves against Queens. Queen's senior Erin Vernillo scored for the Knights at 60:07.
LAST TIME OUT - MEN
The men's team lost 1-0 in a hard-fought match to West Chester University last Thursday. West Chester had scored early in the first half at 18:42 by freshman Cameron Peploe. The Rams had several chances to tie up the score, leading in shots, 14-12, with 3 shots on goal from freshman Theophilus Ijeboi, junior Jason Rocha, and sophomore Musa Kalombe.
LOOKING AT POST
Off to a slow start, the Post's women's team is currently 0-3 taking defeats from Saint Thomas Aquinas College (4-3 in OT), Saint Michael's College (2-1), and Southern New Hampshire University (3-0).
The men's team's record sits even at 1-1, beating New York Institute of Technology (2-1) and then losing to Southern New Hampshire University (2-1 in OT).
The men will play against Mercy College at Mercy Field in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. on Tuesday, Sept. 12 at 3 p.m. The women will match-up against LIU Post at Pioneer Soccer Park in Brookville, N.Y. on Wednesday, Sept. 13 at 4 p.m.
