Wayne Grocott became a member of George Dunbar's staff as an assistant coach in April of 2012, and brings a wealth of international experience to Philadelphia University

In 2008 and 2009 Grocott was the first assistant coach for the Philadelphia Independence of the Women’s Professional Soccer League team, responsible for player identificatio and served as the Youth Academy Director. He simultaneously coached the CDSA Future in addition to his duties with the Independence.

Prior to his team with the Independence and the CDSA Future, Grocott spent two seasons as a head coach in the Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL) with the Northampton Laurels and the Philadelphia Liberty. With the expansion Laurels in 2006, Grocott guided the franchise to a second place finish in the Southern Division of the Eastern Conference and a berth in the WPSL playoffs. A year later as the leader of the Liberty, the team posted a third-place finish in the Mid-Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference.

Grocott spent four seasons as a head coach in Southern New Jersey as the leader of the South Jersey Banshees (2001, 2003-04) and the Ocean City Barons (2005).

A native of England, Grocott played for 14 seasons with numerous clubs, including Cheshunt FC, Wisbech Town FC, Hertford Town FC, St Margaretsbury FC, Waltham Abbey FC, Ware FC, Hoddesdon Town FC and Bishops Stortford FC. He also trained with also trained with Brentford and Cambridge United FC.

Grocott has extensive coaching experience in England, where he coached for Barnet FC in its Football in the Community Scheme, and Norwich City FC in its School of Excellence.

Grocott has numeous licenses, diplomas and certificates including: UEFA “B” Coaching License, USSF “B” Coaching License, NSCAA Advanced National Diploma, NSCAA Director of Coaching Diploma, NSCAA High School Coaches Diploma, English F.A. Preliminary Certificate, English F.A. Coaching Certificate, and Foundation Studies in Exercise Diploma from Arsenal FC.
