Philadelphia University Women's Tennis Going to CACC 'Ship

Philadelphia, PA- It took less than an hour and a half for the Philadelphia University women to punch their ticket to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) championship match with a 5-0 sweep of Georgian Court University on Tuesday afternoon.  The Lady Rams will face the winner of Holy Family vs. Goldey-Beacom on Thursday, October 16th at Chestnut Hill College at 3 p.m. 

At #1 singles sophomore Adriana Rodriguez (San Juan, Puerto Rico/Colegio Sagrados Corazones) improved to 14-2 overall this season as she blanked GCU's Caitlyn Lawrence 6-0, 6-0.  At second singles, sophomore Daniela Rodriguez (Quito, Ecuador/Colegio Menor) followed suit as she rolled by GCU's Natalie Grieci 6-0, 6-0.

Doubles all swept the Lions, giving up just two games in the process.  #1 Rodriguez/ Rodriguez won 8-1, the freshman team of Christina Brzozowski (Wallingford, CT/ Sacred Heart Academy) and Brittany Villa (Logan, NJ/ Kingsway Regional) also got a 8-1 win at #2 doubles and the #3 team of sophomore Sarah Harris (West Chester, PA/ West Chester East) and freshman Alex Dunham (Southampton, NY/ Southampton) swept 8-0 to finalize the victory.
