Daniela Rodriguez Wins CACC Singles Title, Named CACC Player of the Year
Philadelphia, PA- Philadelphia University's #2 singles player Daniela Rodriguez (Quito, Ecuador/Colegio Menora) captured the Central Atlantic College Conference Singles Championship on Sunday afternoon, outmatching Holy Family's Shakir Willet 6-0, 2-6, 6-2. She also takes home the CACC Player of the Year award with the victory.
D. Rodriguez advanced to the championship match after defeating Goldey-Beacom's Luisiana Souto in the semifinal round.
Lady Ram first singles player Adriana Rodriguez (San Juan, Puerto Rico/Colegio Sagrados Corazones) fell in the other semifinal match to HFU's Willet.
Overall Phila U. had an outstanding weekend of postseason tennis, capturing the Team Championships, Singles Championship and the Doubles Championship runner-up trophy.
The team will advance to NCAA Regional in the spring, date and time to be determined.
