Womens Tennis Picks up 7-1 Ace over La Salle
Wilmington, DE- The Philadelphia University women's tennis team (4-2) got an impressive 7-1 victory over NCAA Division I city rival La Salle University on Tuesday afternoon.
The Lady Rams gave up just one game through #1 and #2 singles, as Adriana Rodriguez (San Juan, Puerto Rico/Colegio Sagrados Corazones) blanked La Salle's Lauren Perry 6-0, 6-0 and CACC Player of the Week Daniela Rodriguez (Quito, Ecuador/Colegio Menor) defeated Tonya Rice 6-1, 6-0. The Rodriguez duo teamed up to win #1 doubles 8-2.
Freshman Christina Brzozowski (Wallingford, CT/Sacred Heart Academy), the CACC Rookie of the Week, won at #3 singles 6-2, 6-1.
Also picking up victories for the Lady Rams were #4 singles sophomore Stephanie Reinke (St. James, NY/ Smithtown), #5 singles freshman Brittany Villa (Logan, NJ/ Kingsway) and Villa/Alex Dunham (Southampton, NY/ Southampton) at #3 doubles.
Phila U. continues the season tomorrow, Wednesday, September 17th at Millersville University at 2 p.m.
