#5 Rodriguez Doubles Team Advances to ITA Championship Match
Philadelphia, PA- In the second day of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Regional Tournament, sophomores Daniela Rodriguez (Quito, Ecuador/Colegio Menor) and Adriana Rodriguez (San Juan, Puerto Rico/Colegio Sagrados Corazones) stayed alive in doubles competition defeating a Bentley College team 8-1, then winning a close 8-6 match over Holy Family.
The #5 Rodriguez team will take on the #1 seeded Concordia College team of Oliveira/Ortiz on Sunday, September 21st at 11:00 a.m in the East Regional championship match.
In singles Phila U. did not fare as well as D. Rodriguez defeated Borres of Holy Family 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 and then fell 6-2, 6-2 to Concordia College's Oliveira- just short of a berth in the singles semi-finals match, while A. Rodriguez fell 6-2, 6-2 to Queen's College Mendes.
