Womens Tennis Blanks Eastern University 9-0
Philadelphia, PA- The Philadelphia University women's tennis team did not give up a single set in a 9-0 shutout of Eastern University on Tuesday afternoon. The Lady Rams, perhaps inspired by the dedication of the new Abe Salaman Class of '58 Courts prior to the match, improved to 5-2 on the season.
Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Player of the Week #2 singles Daniela Rodriguez (Quito, Ecuador/Colegio Menor) did not give up a single game in her 6-0, 6-0 win over Hannah Tobin. CACC Rookie of the Week #3 singles Christina Brzozowski (Wallingford, CT/Sacred Heart Academy) defeated Lindsey Leh 6-1, 6-2.
Adriana Rodriguez (San Juan, Puerto Rico/Colegio Sagrados Corazones) won her #1 singles match 6-1, 6-1 over Eastern's Bekah Roland.
In doubles, the Lady Rams gave up a mere five games combined as #1 Rodriguez/Rodriguez won 8-2, and the #2 team of Brzozowski and sophomore Stephanie Reinke (St. James, N.Y./Smithtown) won 8-1.
Phila U. will host Post University in a conference contest on Wednesday, September 24th at 3:30 p.m. at the Abe Salaman Class of '58 Courts.
