Women’s Tennis Names Rodriguez, Reinke Captains

Philadelphia, PA- Philadelphia University Head Women's Tennis Coach Marty Gilbert has announced that juniors Daniela Rodriguez (Quito, Ecuador, Colegio Menor) and Stephanie Reinke (St. James, NY/ Smithtown) have been named captains for the upcoming 2009-10 season. The Lady Rams won the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championship and advanced to the NCAA East Regional Tournament last year.

Rodriguez, the #2 singles and #1 doubles player last season, finished with a 24-4 singles record and 20-7 doubles record as sophomore. She was tabbed CACC Women's Tennis ‘Player of the Year' after winning the CACC Individual Singles Championship and CACC All-Conference 1^st Team. She also finished as CACC Tournament Women's Doubles runner-up.

Reinke, the #4 singles and #2 doubles player, finished with a 12-6 singles record and 13-4 doubles record as a sophomore.

The women open the season at home on Saturday, August 29^th at 12:00 p.m. vs. Chestnut Hill College on the Abraham J. Salaman '58 Courts.
