Women's Tennis Can't be Stopped in 8-1 Win at GCU

Lakewood, NJ- The Philadelphia University women's tennis team (5-4, 3-3 CACC) evened up their conference record in an 8-1 victory over Georgian Court University (1-7, 1-3 CACC) on Wednesday afternoon at the Ellen Mullane Gallagher Tennis Center. 

PhilaU blazed through doubles action, picking up all three points before winning five of six singles bouts. 

Sophomore #1 singles player Isabella Espinosa notched a 6-3, 6-1 win over Maria Leal, while #2 sophomore Sayre Limburg collected a 6-2, 6-1 win over Victoria Gaffney.  At doubles, Limburg teamed up with senior Stephanie Reinke to gain a 9-8 win at the #1 spot over Leal and Sarah Lockenmeyer. 

PhilaU gave up their lone point at #4 singles, as senior Brittany Villa fell to Nicole Way 6-0, 6-7, 10-5.

The Rams continue the season on Friday (10/13) at Cabrini College, scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
