PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Philadelphia University women's tennis team concluded its 2011-12 season with a 9-0 loss to 28th-ranked Queens (N.Y.) in a non-conference match on senior day Friday afternoon.
Prior to the match, the Lady Rams and the department of athletics recognized seniors Stephanie Reinke and Brittany Villa. Villa finishes her career with 77 wins (39 doubles, 38 singles), while Reinke posted 61 victories (31 singles, 30 doubles). Villa and Reinke were both a part of the 2008 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference championship team and played in the NCAA Tournament.
Isabella Espinosa was tough in her defeat against Erika Goldsmith in the No. 1 singles match, 4-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-8).
Reinke and Villa was both defeated in their final two matches with the Lady Rams. Reinke, teamed up with Sayre Limburg, with were knocked off 8-1 in No. 1 doubles. In No. 4 singles, Phoebe Chiem defeated Reinke, 6-3, 6-2.
Villa and Espinosa suffered an 8-2 defeat in the No. 2 doubled flight. In singles, Villa lost 6-0, 6-0 in the No. 3 match.
Philadelphia concludes its season with an overall record of 11-9.
