Baublitz, Sampaio named to CACC Women’s Tennis All-Academic Team

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Sophomore Usha Baublitz and senior Mariana Sampaio represented Philadelphia Unviersity on the 2016 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Tennis All-Academic Team.

Sampaio, a fashion design major with a 3.60 grade-point average, is on the all-academic team for the third time in her. A physician assistant studies major with a 3.98 GPA, Baublitz made her first all-academic team.

The Rams were tied for second in the CACC with two honorees. As a whole, the CACC had 15 student-athletes named to the all-academic team.

In order to be named to the CACC Women's Tennis All-Academic Team, recipients be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, have been a student-athlete at their current school for at least two semesters, and achieve a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher through the spring or summer semester of 2016.

Philadelphia went 6-8 overall during the fall and made the CACC Tournament with a 3-4 conference record.
