POMONA, N.J. – The Philadelphia University women's track team posted a sixth-place finish at the Collegiate Track Conference Outdoor Championships on Saturday at Richard Stockton College.
The Rams recorded 31 points in the 14-team event, which was won by Georgian Court with 199 points.
Alyssa Litty (Marlton, N.J./Cherokee) and the 4x800-meter relay team posted victories to lead Philadelphia.
Litty claimed the win in the 10,000-meter run with a personal-best time of 40:24.52, 1:21.33 ahead of the runner-up.
The team of Taylor Falvey (York, Pa./York Catholic), Emilie Barton (Sterling, Ill./Newman Catholic Central), Jessica Thies (Reading, Pa./Schuylkill Valley), and Victoria Frisbie (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) earned the 4x800 victory, finishing the race in 9:56.79. The Rams finished five seconds in front of second place Georgian Court.
Falvey set the school record in the 5,000-meter run as she finished the event with the second-place time of 18:26.50.
In the 3,000-meter steeplechase, Courtney Lafferty (Rochester, N.Y./Greece Athena) claimed the third spot as she ran a 13:06.58.
Frisbie led the Ram effort in the 1,500-meter run with a seventh-place time of 5:12.96. Barton was the eighth-place finisher as she crossed the line in 5:16.94, while Theis posted a 5:18.41 to take ninth.
Philadelphia will compete in the Penn Relays on Friday, April 25.
