Falvey named to Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Women’s Track & Field Team

PHILADELPHIA – Philadelphia University senior Taylor Falvey (York, Pa./York Catholic) earned another academic honor as she was voted on to the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Women's Track & Field Team by the sports information offices of 29 institutions in the Philadelphia metropolitan area.

Falvey won the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) title in the 5,000 and 10,000-meter runs at the conference championship meet on May 3 at Georgian Court University. At the Collegiate Track Conference Championship on April 18, Falvey earned the win in the 5,000 and was a part of the 4x800 relay team that placed third. She posted her season-best 5,000 time of 18:54.07 to come in third at the Danny Curran Invitational.

A health sciences major with a 3.95 grade point average, Falvey was named to the Capital One Division II Academic All-District 1 Women's Cross Country and Track & Field Team and CACC Spring All-Academic Team. In the fall, Falvey earned a spot on the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Women's Cross Country Team, CACC Fall All-Academic Team, and the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic Team.

In order to be eligible for Academic All-Area honors, an athlete must be in at least her second year at the institution and hold a cumulative GPA of at least 3.20.
