Volleyball Advances to CACC Semifinals in 3-0 Shutout of Holy Family
Philadelphia, PA- The Philadelphia University women's volleyball team (20-12, 14-4 CACC) advanced to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference quarterfinals in straight sets with a 3-0 victory on the road vs. Holy Family University (23-14, 14-4 CACC) on Tuesday evening. The win advances the #3 Lady Rams to the CACC semifinals held on Friday, November 14th vs. #1 seeded Caldwell College hosted by Georgian Court University at 8 p.m.
Please note that the CACC charges admission for postseason tournament matches, adults are $6 and students with valid IDs are $3.
The Lady Rams previously defeated Caldwell 3-1 in an early November regular season match-up.
Set scores were 25-15, 25-14 and 25-23.
Senior Katie Miller (Elkton, MD/ Rising Sun) continued to be strong for the Lady Rams with 11 kills and 11 digs, while junior Celena Rendon (San Antonio, TX/ Tom C. Clark) also chipped in 11 kills and 10 digs, along with two block assists.
Junior Molly Malone (Rochester, NY/ Chili Gates) added six blocks, four kills and eight digs for PhilaU, while sophomore setter Lauren Hoover (New Baltimore, MI/ Anchor Bay) had 19 assists and two digs.
