Volleyball Nets Two Wins in Tri-Match at Post
Waterbury, CT- The Philadelphia University Lady Rams (28-5, 15-2 CACC) prevailed in a tri-match at Post University on Saturday, getting identical 3-0 wins over Post (9-21, 9-9 CACC) and Molloy College (8-20, 3-8 ECC). The PhilaU squad is now just two wins away from Coach Magarity's second 30-win season.
Set scores vs. Post were: 26-24, 26-24 and 25-20. Set scores vs. Molloy were: 25-17, 25-13 and 25-19.
Senior middle-hitter Molloy Malone (Rochester, NY/ Gates Chili) tallied 10 kills and four digs on the day, while freshman middle-hitter Ellie Edgar (Cuyahoga Falls, OH/ Cuyahoga Falls) added 12 kills and seven digs.
Freshman outside hitter Danielle Carney (Thousand Oaks, CA/ Thousand Oaks) racked up 11 kills and nine digs, while senior defensive specialist Natalie Amodei (West Chester, PA/ Bishop Shanahan) added 33 digs and five service aces.
PhilaU junior setter Lauren Hoover (New Baltimore, MI/ Anchor Bay) picked up 10 set assists vs. Molloy and sophomore setter Adrienne Stigura (Reading, PA/ Reading Central Catholic) contributed 11 set assists in the first match vs. Molloy.
PhilaU returns to action on Monday (11/2) vs. Chestnut Hill College at 7:00 p.m. in the Gallagher Athletic Center.
