Volleyball Too Much in Two Wins over GBC and BSU
Wilmington, DE- The Philadelphia University women's volleyball team (2-1, 1-0 CACC) picked up two solid wins in a tri-match vs. Goldey-Beacom College and Bowie State on Saturday. The Lady Rams won 3-1 vs. GBC and 3-0 vs. BSU.
In the first match vs. GBC, PhilaU won with scores of 25-11, 25-18, 18-25 and 25-20. The Lady Rams took BSU in three: 25-11, 25-15 and 25-9.
Senior Celena Rendon (San Antonio, TX/ Tom C. Clark) came up big vs. GBC- notching 16 kills, 14 digs and one assist. Setter/libero freshman Mary Mancuso (Granby, MA/ Holyoke Catholic) had 31 digs on the day.
Sophomore outside hitter Emma Claffy (W. Friendship, MD/ Marriott Ridge) had 10 digs and 10 kills vs. BSU.
The Lady Rams return to action Wednesday (9/2) at 7 p.m. vs. Philadelphia Biblical at home.
