PhilaU Volleyball Cruises to 13th & 14th Wins at Dominican
Orangeburg, NY- The Philadelphia University women's volleyball team (14-1, 4-0 CACC) pushed their winning streak to 14 with two wins on Saturday afternoon- a 3-1 victory over host Dominican College (7-6, 3-2 CACC) and a 3-0 shutout of St. Anselm's College (3-3).
Set scores vs. Dominican were: 25-20, 25-16, 23-25 and
25-15.
Set scores vs. St. Anselm's were: 25-18, 25-21 and
25-15.
Senior right-side hitter Nicole Berkstresser (Bridgewater, NJ/ Bridgewater-Raritan) led all Lady Rams with 17 kills on the day in seven games played. Fellow senior defensive specialist Cindy Adams (Fleetwood, PA/ Fleetwood) had 15 digs, 11 kills and one service.
Junior setter Lauren Hoover (New Baltimore, MI/ Anchor Bay) led the team with 44 set assists, along with five digs and three service aces.
The team returns to the hardwood on Tuesday (9/22) in a rematch of last year's CACC Championship to host Georgian Court at 7 p.m. at the Gallagher Athletic Center. The game will be webcast live on www.philaurams.com.
