2010 Volleyball Season in Review
Philadelphia, PA- The Philadelphia University volleyball team (19-9, 16-3 CACC) completed the 2010 season in a hard-fought CACC Semifinal loss in early November, 3-1 to the #1 north seed and eventual CACC champion Caldwell College Cougars, hosted by Georgian Court University. #2 south seeded PhilaU beat Wilmington 3-0 in the conference quarterfinals to get to Caldwell.
The Rams had been to the CACC Championship in 2008 and 2009, finishing as runners-up both times.
Senior setter Lauren Hoover was named CACC All-Tournament Team for her efforts.
At the end of the regular season, freshman outside-hitter Leanna Lillge was named CACC ‘Rookie of the Year’ and All-Conference 2nd Team after leading the Rams with 3.32 kills/game and 372 total digs on the year. She appeared in all 95 games over 27 matches, including the post-season.
In six completed seasons, Coach Mark Magarity boasts a 149-52 overall record at PhilaU, good enough for a 74% winning percentage.
