PhilaU Volleyball Wins 3-1 Against Nyack; Advance To Semifinals

Philadelphia, Pa.- The Philadelphia University Rams volleyball team (19-11) defeated the Nyack College Warriors 3-1 tonight to advance to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Semifinals. Set scores were 25-15, 23-25, 25-18, 25-17.

The duo of sophomore outside hitter Brittany Olson and junior outside hitter Danielle Carney was at it once again tonight for the Rams. Olson led the team in kills with 20. Two of Carney's 13 kills came from incredible behind-the-back efforts. Senior setter Adrienne Stigura and sophomore setter Heather Martin lent a helping hand for the Rams. Stigura tallied 24 assists while Martin delivered 20.

Defensively for the Rams, junior setter/libero Morgan McCarthy completed a team-high 19 digs. Carney had 15 digs on the evening.  Olson and Martin each ended with 14 digs in the match. The team had seven blocks against Nyack.

The Rams face Caldwell College this Friday (11/11) in the CACC Semifinals. The match will be held at 5:30 p.m. at Georgian Court University.
