PhilaU Rams Defeated In Final Day At West Chester Ram Fest
Philadelphia, PA- The Philadelphia University
volleyball team (2-4) lost both matches in the final day of the
tournament. In the first match, they were defeated by Stonehill
College (6-1) in three straight sets. Sophomore libero/outside
hitter Brittany Olson led the team with 12 kills, but that was not
enough to stop the attack of Stonehill. Sydney Maxey of Stonehill
led the team with 12 kills.
Set scores were: 12-25, 15-25 and 24-26.
Defensively for the Rams, junior Morgan McCarthy finished with 12 digs. Stonehill’s Erin Kelly also had 12 digs.
In the second matchup of the day, PhilaU lost to West Chester University (6-3) by a final score of 3-2. Brittany Olson led the PhilaU Rams with 7 kills. West Chester’s Lexi Kegerise had 10 kills.
Set scores for the matchup were 22-25, 15-25, and 17-25.
On the defensive side, the Ram’s Morgan McCarthy again led the team in digs with 12. West Chester’s Lisa Campbell had 20 digs to lead the team.
PhilaU returns home to face Holy Family University (9/13) at 6:00 p.m.
