Rams Go 1-1 At West Chester Ram Fest
Philadelphia, PA- The Philadelphia University
volleyball team (2-2) defeated Lincoln University (0-5) in their
first match of the West Chester tournament in three straight sets.
Sophomore libero/outside hitter Brittany Olson led the Rams
with 10 kills, along with Rebekah Waybrant, who tallied 9
kills.
Set scores were: 25-8, 25-7 and 25-16.
Defensively, sophomores Brittany Olson and Danielle Carney topped PhilaU with 5 digs. Lincoln University’s Jasmine Graves led the team with 6 digs.
In the second matchup of the day, PhilaU lost to C.W. Post (2-3), with a final score of 3-2. For the second straight match, Brittany Olson led the Rams in kills with 12 while Danielle Carney finished with 11. Makamae Namahoe of C.W. Post led the team with 12 kills.
Set scores for the match were: 18-25, 25-18, 19-25, 25-22, and 9-15.
On the defensive end for the Rams, junior libero/defensive specialist Morgan McCarthy picked up a team high 36 digs against C.W. Post.
PhilaU has two matches tomorrow (9/10) at the Ram Fest. The first game is at 12:00 p.m. vs. Stonehill College, followed by a 2:00 p.m. match against West Chester University.
