Five University Cross Country Runners Earn All-CACC Honors
Head Coach Dave Thomas' cross country teams competed for CACC titles today at Belmont Plateau in Philadelphia, with the men's side taking a strong second place in the league while the women finished in fifth position. Sophomore Shawn D'Andrea led the way for the Rams in the men's 8000 meter race, finishing in second place, while sophomore Andrew Piotrowski came home in tenth and freshman Jeff Kopczynski garnered a 13th place finish. All three runners were named to the All-CACC team for the season, with Kopczynski becoming the first freshman in school history to be honored as all-conference in cross country. In the women's 5000 meter race, sophomore Faith Anderson and senior Melissa Rennekamp (shown below competing in today's race) paced the Lady Rams with respective eighth and ninth place performances, and both were also named to the All-Conference team. Next up for the Philadelphia University harriers is the NCAA Regional Championships on Sat., Nov. 3rd at Lock Haven University in Lock Haven, Pa.
