XC Finishes Atop Competition at Haverford Time Trials
Philadelphia, PA- The Philadelphia University men's and women's cross country teams opened their season in dominating fashion at the Haverford Time Trials on Tuesday night. Senior Shawn D'Andrea (Blackwood, NJ/ Paul VI) repeated as the men's champion (15:19) in a three mile plus race and sophomore Sarah Simonetti (Perkasie, PA/ Pennridge) took the women's event (18:42).
Other teams involved in the night's competition were: La Salle, Bryn Mawr, Saint Joseph's, Haverford, Crest College, and Temple.
In addition, PhilaU sophomore Angelica DiNucci (Baltimore, MD/ Delaney) took second overall (19:11) for the women.
The race was a non-scoring event.
The PhilaU teams will compete in their first scoring competition on Saturday (9/12) at the Wilmington Invitational.
