Men’s, Women’s XC Teams Ranked in Latest Poll

New Orleans The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCA) announced their second regular-season rankings on Tuesday.

The USTFCCA ranked Philadelphia University's women's cross country team 5th and the men's cross country team 9th in Division II's East Region.

The women moved up two spots from last week, as once again junior Sara Simonetti led the way for the Rams. Simonetti finished first at the Philadelphia Metro Championships on September 25. Her time of 20:12 catapulted the team to their second first-place finish of the season.

In the men's rankings, the Rams cracked the top 10 for the first time this season. The men finished second at last week's Philadelphia Metro Championships. Sophomore Kip Kirui (29:02) was the top Ram, finishing 6th.

The Rams will return to the trail on Friday (10/1) in the Paul Short Run at Lehigh University in Bethlehem. The meet is scheduled to start at 10 a.m.

The next regional rankings will be released on October 5.
