Barton tabbed CACC women’s cross country runner of the week

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – After recording her second victory of the season, Emilie Barton (Sterling, Ill./Newman Central Catholic) was named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference women's cross country runner of the week by the conference office Tuesday.

Barton was victorious at the Goldey-Beacom College Fall Classic on Sept. 26, defeating the field of 52 runners with a season-best 5-kilometer time of 20 minutes, 16.18 seconds. She won the race by 7.05 seconds.

Earlier this season, Barton won the Delaware Valley University Invitational. Barton now has three career victories.

Philadelphia heads to Lehigh University to compete in the Paul Short Run on Friday, Oct. 2.
