Men's and Women's Cross Country Continue Seasons at Delaware Invitational

NEWARK, Del. – The Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) men's and women's cross country teams will continue their seasons this Saturday, Sept. 15 in the Delaware Invitational at White Clay Creek State Park in Newark, Del. at 9:30 a.m.

Several CACC schools will be competing in Delaware including Chestnut Hill, Felician, Goldey-Beacom, Holy Family, Nyack and Wilmington. Howard, Lincoln (Pa.), Mercer and the host, Delaware will also be running.

PHILADELPHIA METROPOLITAN CHAMPIONSHIP
Last Saturday, Sept. 9 at the Philadelphia Metropolitan Championship the Rams, both men and women, earned first place in the ten-team event. Graduate student Milan Duka, earned first place with a time of 27:09.2, while two of his teammates, Sergei Cendo and Ethan Fadale, came in second and fifth earning times of 27:56.3 and 28:19.7. For the women senior Sarah Nellis finished second with a time of 20:42.4, and following her sophomore Erin Young who finished fourth with a time of 20:45.4.

After taking first place at the 2017 Philadelphia Metropolitan Championship, Duka was named the CACC Runner of the Week.  

Freshman Jasmine Buckridge was named CACC Rookie of the Week. This is the second-straight week that Buckridge received the honor of winning this title. Buckridge was the third Ram, and seventh overall, to finish the race with a time of 21:08.2.

WHITE CLAY CREEK STATE PARK
The course for Saturday's meet will be the site of the 2017 CACC Championship on Sunday, Oct. 22.

NEXT UP
The Rams will continue their season next Saturday, Sept. 23 at the Osprey Open in Galloway, N.J. The women starting off at 10 a.m. and the men following at 11 a.m.
